The American Thoracic Society's 2014 International Conference takes place from May 16 to 21 in San Francisco, California . The ATS Conference offers the latest in pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine to physicians, scientists and allied healthcare professionals. The conference, which draws physicians from around the world, focuses on ATS’s three pillars: pulmonary, critical care, and sleep. Postgraduate courses, workshops, and various networking events are available throughout the six-day event.
The ATS 2014 Conference App features nearly 7,000 abstracts related to pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine. Conference sessions are organized by day, format, and track, while users can search by specific speakers or authors. A complete listing of exhibitors—searchable by company name and product category—is also provided, along with floor plans of the convention center. Other highlights include a listing of special events and event logistics, a city guide to San Francisco, and interactive room maps of all three event facilities. AppBurst worked with the Austrian-based Webges to build and publish the mobile application.
Founded in 1905, the American Thoracic Society aims to “improve health worldwide by advancing research, clinical care and public health in respiratory disease, critical illness and sleep disorders. “ Over 15,000 physicians currently make up the society’s membership, which extends to various countries around the world. Originally known as the American Sanatorium Association, the organization was renamed to the American Trudeau Society in 1938 before becoming the American Thoracic Society in 1960.
