We Build iPhone, iPad, & Android Mobile Apps
The Movement Disorder Society needed an app for the 17th International Congress of Parkinson’s Disease and Movement Disorders that took place in Sydney, Australia in June 2013. We had an app for our 16th International Congress in partnership with another organization, but it never really worked the way the staff hoped it would. We began our search for a new app developer in January of 2013. Based on recommendations and our initial contact with AppBurst, MDS selected AppBurst as our Congress app vendor. I’m so glad we did!
I was so pleased with the whole process. From AppBurst’s proposal to the kick-off meeting to using the dashboard for loading our content, it was so easy! We worked closely with Mark Golden and Matt Milloway who were easy to reach by phone or e-mail. At any stage in the process, they were able to answer our questions. I am not a developer and have no training, but Matt walked me through how to use the dashboard and helped if I ever struggled with anything. It was completed on time and it looked great!
The real test, obviously, came in Sydney. Would the attendees use it and like it? Would we have any problems? Thanks to early training, I was able to help many attendees load the app on their devices or show them how to use the great app features. One attendee loved the calendar function so much that he had to find me and show me how he organized his whole week using the app. In addition to posting agenda items right to a user’s calendar, many liked that they could search for information on the MDS website within the app so they didn’t have to move back and forth between their browser and the app.
I am happy to say that based on the success of this app, we will be using AppBurst for the 18th International Congress as well. This is definitely a beneficial tool for our users and a great working relationship for MDS.
